Hi All;

At our Sunday meeting we decided to go to pick Red Onyx by the Pabco plant before Las Vegas.

We will be meeting at 7:45am Thursday at the WHCC for an 8am departure.

We will take a bio break at the Loves gas station at Hwy 93 exit and head onto Pabco rd to the red Onyx.

It is a seam along a trench so you will need to bring a hammer and chisel or bar to work the onyx out. Please bring a lunch and chairs as it will be sunny and around 68F.

See you there.

PS-we also decided to do a trip on Sat Jan 24th to coon creek to look for river rock, fossils and agate. This is only a few miles out of mesquite along the old hwy to Beaver Dam

Regards

Gary

The club's monthly meeting is the second Sunday of the month at 4:00pm.

The club's monthly outing is the Thursday after the Sunday meeting (subject to change due to weather and other conflicts).

The Members List can be printed out in the Members Only section of the Members Gallery.

Check out our Tips & Techniques.  We have added some info on rock/stone cleaning and stabalizing.  There is also a link to a website all about mines sent by Mike Durand.

Don't forget to check out the Members Gallery from time to time.

We have some updating to our web site.
The Club Outing and Members Only sections are now password protected.

We have added a New Member Application to the Members Gallery.

We now have GPS coordinates for all outings! (Thanks to Mike Durand)

This will be a great tool for all our members.  Those members who want to do some exploring on their own, can now use the GPS coordinates to check out places the club has been that they haven't or just want to spend some more time there.

The coordinates can be used with Google Earth or Google Maps.  Just copy and paste into the program of your choice.

After every Sunday meeting, we will have the location of our next outing for the following Thursday (usually).

It is at the top of the page and it includes a highlighted link to a Google Map.

You can soom in and out, move the map around and you can right click on any area of the map and get directions.

At the lower left of the map, you can change from aerial view to map view and visa versa.
