Susan & Ed talked about their various visits to
collection sites in and around Butte, Montana-they
passed around some samples.
Bill and Stella brought samples of petrified wood
collected at the Dobell Ranch (a private ranch next to
the Petrified Forest).
We decided to go to
Tobin Wash, near the Veyo Gas plant on Thursday, Sept.
14. Meet at
the Women’s Center at 7:45, leave at 8 am.
Monty moved that the meeting
be adjourned at 4:50pm.
Trip Report
Had
a good turnout for our field trip to
Tobin Wash (14 members) and the temps were good
for picking although the bugs were very pesty. Most of
the group went on to Mataqua Rd for some petrified wood.
Good trip overall. See you all in October.
Regards, Gary
President’s Report
Welcome to our newest members Steve and Lynn Martin!
Fran and I just returned from Canada and we are looking
forward to our field trips this year. We had a chance to
pick some Amethyst at a mine by Thunder Bay Ontario this
summer. Fun to pick these crystals. Hope to bring a few
to our next meeting.
Outdoor
Club President, Gary
Next Meeting:
October 8, 4pm at the
